BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Clemson senior long jumper Chris McBride earned Second Team All-America honors on Friday as he wrapped up his indoor career at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. McBride, who holds Clemson’s all-time record in both the indoor and outdoor long jump, bowed out of Friday’s long jump after slightly reaggravating a lower body injury on his first jump of the evening.
McBride flew for a distance of 6.96m (22-10) on his initial jump to place 15th overall. McBride is now a three-time All-American for his career and is set to compete this upcoming outdoor season.
Up next, the Tigers open their 2019 outdoor season at Georgia Tech’s Yellow Jacket Invitational next weekend (March 15-16).
