Clemson Set to Host Pittsburgh on Senior Day

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team is poised to host No. 3 Pittsburgh on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. on Senior Day in Jervey Gym. Following the match, Clemson will honor and recognize Crystal Childs, Kaylee Martin and Ava Pritchard for their dedication and contributions to the Clemson Orange and Regalia.

Sunday’s match can be streamed on ACCNX. Coming into the match, Clemson is 12-15 overall and 3-12 in ACC play. This is the second time the two programs have met this season after previously meeting on Oct. 8 in Pittsburgh where the Tigers fell in three sets.

Entering the match, Martin leads the Tigers with 3.25 kills per set with 309 kills on the year. Sophomore Camryn Hannah follows with 3.07 kills per set and 227 total. Mckenna Slavik surpassed the 800-asssist mark on the season last weekend at Miami to lead Clemson with 832 in 2021. On her career, the junior has 2,682 assists to sit fifth on Clemson’s all-time list. Sophomore Cate Long has rounded out the offensive threat contributing 24 service aces with 186 kills this season.

Defensively, Pritchard and junior Ani Clark have been the driving force at the net accounting for 49 percent of Clemson’s total blocks this season. Pritchard (15 solo, 61 assisted) leads the team for the fourth-straight season with 76 in 2021. Clark follows with 70 total (15 solo, 55 assisted). Sophomore libero Anna Renwick is contributing 2.50 digs per set, while freshman Devan Taylor is pacing the team with 3.56.

Pittsburgh brings a 25-2 (14-2 ACC) record into Jervey Gym. The Panthers are currently on a seven-game winning streak after defeating Georgia Tech on Nov. 19. Leketor Member-Meneh leads Pitt with 3.55 points per set, followed Kayla Lund closely by adding 3.47. Chinaza Ndee and Lund pace the Panthers with 307 and 296 kills, respectively.
