Clemson Volleyball Host #3 Louisville and Notre Dame

Clemson, S.C – The Clemson Volleyball team will host their first ACC matches of the season against #3 Louisville and Notre Dame in Jervey Gym. Friday’s match-up against #3 Louisville is set for 7 p.m. before finishing the weekend Sunday against Notre Dame with a 1 p.m. scheduled start. Both matches will be streamed on ACCN.

The Tigers and Cardinals have met a total of nine times previously with the Cardinals winning all nine matches, most recently in 2019 when Louisville secured a 0-3 victory. Louisville comes into Jervey Gym 12-0, following two sweeps against Miami and Florida State. Leading the team is Middle Blocker Amaya Tillman with 1.68 blocks per set and tallying 62 total blocks. Elena Scott adds 4.15 digs per set for the Cardinals.

The Irish are coming into the contest 3-9 with two recent losses from Florida State and Miami. Notre Dame leads the series 9-3 and hold a 7-game winning streak. Outside Hitter Charley Niego leads the team with 3.50 kills per set and recorded eight consecutive double-double matches for the Irish this season.

Clemson enters the competition with a 10-3 overall record after now winning six matches in a row, most recently securing a 3-2 victory over Wake Forest. Graduate transfer Kaylee Martin continues to set the offensive tone with a team-high 3.29 kills per set and 157 kills, followed by sophomore Camryn Hannah’s 3.17 kills per set. While on the defensive end, freshman Devan Taylor maintains her dominance on the court by securing 4.04 digs per set on 186 digs this season. The Tigers’ offense features three players with 100-plus kills on the season in Martin, Camryn Hannah, and Cate Long.

All matches in Jervey Gym are free and open to the public. Face coverings are required according to the mask mandate on Clemson’s campus within indoor spaces.
