Clemson Volleyball Hosts No. 16 Georgia Tech

Clemson, S.C – The Clemson Volleyball team will host No. 16 Georgia Tech in Jervey Gym for a Wednesday night match. The match is set for an 8 p.m. scheduled start, slated to broadcast on ACCN. This will be the Tigers’ third match against a top-20 team in the past five matches.

The Tigers and Yellow Jackets have met 73 times, most recently in 2020, where Georgia Tech secured a 3-1 victory. With that win, the Yellow Jackets lead the overall series 39-34. Junior outside hitter Julia Bergmann drives the Georgia Tech team and leads the ACC in both points per set (5.36) and kills per set (4.59). Matti McKissock adds 10.98 assists per set, which leads the ACC.

Clemson enters the competition with a 11-6 overall record after a recent victory over Virginia in five sets on Sunday. Graduate Transfer Kaylee Martin continues to set the offensive tone with a team-high 3.30 kills per set and 195 total kills, followed by Camryn Hannah ‘s 3.10 kills per set. Martin surpassed 1,900 career points during Sunday’s match against Virginia. On the defensive end, freshman libero Devan Taylor maintains her dominance on the court by tallying 4.13 digs per set on 248 digs this season. Taylor ranks 21st among NCAA freshmen in Digs per set and holds the 4th spot in the ACC. The Tigers’ offense features four players with 100-plus kills on the season in Martin, Hannah, Cate Long, and Ani Clark.

All matches in Jervey Gym are free and open to the public. Face coverings are required according to the mask mandate on Clemson’s campus within indoor spaces.
