Tigers Conclude 2021 Season on the Road

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team hits the road for a midweek match against No. 14 Georgia Tech on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m., before concluding the season at North Carolina State on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. Both matches will be available to watch on ACCNX.

Clemson enters the week with a 12-15 (3-13 ACC) record, while Georgia Tech is 21-5 (12-4 ACC) and North Carolina State is 15-12 (9-7 ACC). Clemson faced both opponents earlier in October of this season, dropping matches to the Yellow Jackets and the Pack in three sets.

The Tigers are coming off hosting No. 3 Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon for the final match in Jervey in 2021. Going into Wednesday, graduate transfer Kaylee Martin leads the team with 318 kills (3.24 K/S), followed closely by sophomore Camryn Hannah who has 235 kills on the year (3.05 K/S). Junior Mckenna Slavik sits sixth in the ACC for assists per set with 9.61. Defensively, senior Ava Pritchard and junior Ani Clark continue to be forces at the net accounting for 49 percent of Clemson’s total blocks this season. Pritchard (16 solo, 62 assisted) leads the team for the fourth-straight season with 78 in 2021. Clark follows with 71 total (15 solo, 56 assisted).

Georgia Tech enters Wednesday’s match being led offensively by Julia Bergmann. Bergmann has 500.5 points on the year with 435 kills (4.68 K/S) and 29 aces. On the defensive end, Breland Morrissette has 97 blocks (1.04 B/S), and Paola Pimentel has posted a team-high 279 digs. As a team, Georgia Tech is hitting .293 while limiting opponents to .201.

NC State enters the week hitting .230 as a team with 13.8 kills per set. Melissa Evans and Jade Parchment currently lead the Pack with 336 and 331 kills, respectively. Graduate student Kaylee Frazier has recorded 290 digs, and Jada Allen has 79 blocks. North Carolina State is set to play Syracuse on Wednesday afternoon prior to Saturday’s match.
