Marfuggi Drafted by the New England Revolution in MLS Supplementary Draft

CLEMSON, SC–Clemson men’s soccer player, Phil Marfuggi was selected in the first round of the Major League Soccer (MLS) Supplementary Draft by the New England Revolution. He was the 12th overall pick in this draft.

Marfuggi was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South second-team in 2006.

Marfuggi finished the 2006 season with a 1.29 goals allowed average and had 67 saves on the year. For his career, he had 237 saves and that number is fourth on the Clemson career list for most saves. He was named second-team All-ACC this season.

Clemson finished the season with a 13-5-2 record on the year. The Tigers advanced to the NCAA Final 16. The Tigers were ranked ninth in the Final Soccer America poll.
