CLEMSON, S.C. – After earning her first-career brace against Boston College, Mackenzie Duff has been named the ACC Defensive Player of Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
This past week, Duff and the No. 8 Clemson Tigers shutout both Miami and Boston College to conclude the second week of conference-play. Against the Hurricanes, Duff held the back line and allowed almost zero scoring opportunities for Miami.
Against the Eagles, Duff performed well both defensively and offensively as she held the back line and was credited with the two goals scored in Clemson’s 2-0 victory. Duff sent the ball in twice off of two headers to secure her first-career brace in the Tiger uniform.
With help from Duff, the Tigers improved to 8-1-2 on the season and 2-1 in conference-play.
This award marks Duff’s first-career weekly honor.
Duff and the Tigers are back at home as they play host to Syracuse on Saturday at Historic Riggs Field. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACCNX.
