CLEMSON, S.C. – Senior Marie-Alexandre Leduc is ranked No. 14 in the nation in the fall preseason rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday. In addition, Leduc and classmate Fernanda Navarro are listed 16th nationally in the ITA’s fall preseason doubles poll.
Leduc was an All-ACC First Team selection on the court and an All-ACC Academic Team honoree in the classroom for the Tigers in 2018. The native of Saguenay, Quebec was tied for the team lead in overall singles wins with 22 in 2017-18, and led the team in dual singles wins with 13, while playing every one of her dual matches at No. 1 singles. Leduc posted 10 wins over nationally-ranked singles opponents last year, and finished the 2018 campaign ranked 26th nationally.
In doubles, Leduc and Navarro, a 2018 All-ACC Third Team honoree from Guadalajara, Mexico, were ranked 26th nationally in the final poll of 2018, after advancing to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Doubles Championships. The duo was 20-10 overall in 2017-18 and posted five wins over nationally-ranked doubles teams.
ITA 2018 Fall Preseason Rankings:
