ATLANTA, Ga. – The Clemson Tigers continued to impress in the second day of the ACC Outdoor Championships as 10 Tigers advanced themselves to Saturday’s finals and thrower, Courtney Lawrence earned Clemson their second gold medal of the weekend.
Shining bright on the day was Lawrence as he recorded a huge personal best in the men’s shot put with a mark of 19.75m to earn him first-place. Lawrence’s performance earned him the top-spot on the podium as he will bring home the gold medal, marking the second gold medal for Clemson.
Another Tiger that impressed on the day was Ethan Cocco as he secured a third-place finish in the men’s javelin with a mark of 66.83m to earn himself the bronze medal and be named First Team All-ACC.
Through the prelims, 10 total Tigers earned qualifying marks to advance themselves to the finals of their respective events. Clemson will be back in action tomorrow starting at 2 p.m. with the women’s discus as the Tigers will look to secure an ACC Outdoor Championship title on both the men’s and women’s side.
