CLEMSON, S.C. – Carmina Giraldo gained victory at number-one singles and number-one doubles for the second straight day, leading Clemson to an 8-1 women’s tennis victory over Georgia State at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Courts on Saturday. The victory improved Clemson’s record to 4-1.
Giraldo defeated Nina Jansen at number-one singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. She then joined Anna Savitskaya to gain victory at number-one doubles. The Clemson team defeated Jansen and Mable Abraham by a 9-8 score. Mojca Pavlinic was the only winner for Georgia State. She gained a three-set victory over Clemson’s Cinny Clausen at number-three singles.
