Lady Tiger Track And Field Teams Finish Third At 2004 ACC Indoor Track And Field Championships

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s track and field team finished third at the 2004 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships held this weekend at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Facility. The Lady Tigers were led by Gisele Oliveira, Silja Ulfarsdottir and the Lady Tigers 4x400m relay team. Each posted NCAA qualifying marks en route to event titles on Saturday.

In the 60m dash, Silja Ulfarsdottir was the ACC Champion in the 200m, recording a season-best and provisional qualifying time of 23.96. Cousins was fourth in the 200m, clocking a 24.23. Ulfarsdottir led the Lady Tigers in the 400m, posting another season-best and provisional qualifying time of 54.01. Randi Hinton was a Lady Tiger scorer in the 400m, recording a time of 55.93, and Shakirah Rutherford was eighth in 57.09. Patrice McMillan crossed the finish line in the 800m with a time of 2:14.78 to finish sixth. Jelyn Quick added to the Lady Tiger point total with a sixth-place finish and time of 8.55. The Lady Tigers’ 4x400m relay team of Hinton, Rutherford, Christina Smith and Ulfarsdottir won the event with a provisional qualifying time of 3:41.08.

Gisele Oliveira captured the ACC triple jump title with a personal-best and automatic qualifying mark of 44’1.5″, and Michelle Rogers scored for Clemson in the event with a seventh-place finish and mark of 39’7.75″. In the pole vault, Sara Young was a scorer for the Lady Tigers with a fifth-place finish and clearance of 11’11.75″. Della Clark earned all-conference honors in the weight throw with a third-place finish and season-best mark of 57’7″. Krystal Woods finished sixth in the weight throw, posting a season-best mark of 54’7.5″ to score for Clemson.
