Knowles to Play in Alliance Fastpitch All-Star Game

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson softball’s signee, Marena Knowles, has been named to the 2022 All-Star roster for The Alliance Fastpitch All-Star Game. The incoming freshman is one of 40 graduating seniors to be selected to the second annual Alliance Fastpitch All-Star Game (ASG) Powered by Under Armour.

Knowles, a first baseman and outfielder, signed with the Tigers in November of 2021. The Hawkinsville, Ga., native was a four-time All-State and All-Region selection. During her junior campaign, she was named the All-Region and All-Area Player of the Year after posting a .598 batting average and 1.184 slugging percentage after hitting 11 home runs, 10 doubles, four triples and bringing in 67 RBI. During her high school career, Knowles helped Westfield HS win four consecutive Region and State Championships.

Clemson fans can watch Knowles compete at the 2022 Alliance All-Star Game on July 24 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The 7-inning game will be held at Kokomo Munciple Stadium in Kokomo, Indiana prior to the start of the 16U and 18U Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series. The All-Star athletes will be divided into two teams – Alliance American and Alliance National. The rosters for each team will be finalized and announced closer to the game.

The All-Star game is comprised of graduating seniors, and all 40 selections have signed to play at the Division I collegiate level. The high school seniors were selected by the Alliance Fastpitch national committee, spearheaded by Derek Allister and OnDeck Softball, and represent the top athletes in the Class of 2022 from every corner of the country.
