Klubnik Named as Semifinalist for Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award

The Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and SPORTyler announced today that Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik has been named as one of 16 semifinalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, given annually to the nation’s top offensive player either in or from the state of Texas.

TYLER, Texas – This year many talented athletes with ties to the state of Texas have emerged as candidates for The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award. Sixteen Semifinalists have been selected by The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Selection Committee.

This year’s candidates include ten quarterbacks, 3 running backs, 2 wide receivers and 1 tight end. Six different conferences are represented.

THE EARL CAMPBELL TYLER ROSE AWARD

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: played football and graduated from a Texas High School and/or playing at a four-year Division I Texas college.
