CLEMSON, SC — Former two-time All-American Barbara Kennedy-Dixon has been named Assistant Athletic Director of Clemson Women’s Basketball Operations as announced by Head Coach Jim Davis Monday afternoon.
Kennedy-Dixon will be in charge of day-to-day operations of the women’s basketball office. She will serve as the liaison between the academic advisors and players. She is also responsible for game scheduling and team travel. Kennedy-Dixon will also oversee the community outreach program as well as the marketing of Clemson Women’s Basketball.
Kennedy-Dixon had been serving as an assistant compliance officer at Clemson.
She was a two-time All-American for the Lady Tigers in 1981 and 1982. Kennedy-Dixon was named first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference in 1980, 1981, and 1982. She is the ACC and Clemson’s all-time career leader in scoring (3,113) and rebounding (1,252).
“She is the most recognizable player in Clemson Women’s Basketball history,” said Clemson Head Coach Jim Davis. “As great a player as she was, she is an even better person. She will be a tremendous role-model for our players.”
Kennedy-Dixon is a member of the Clemson Athletic Hall-of-Fame, the South Carolina Athletic Hall-of-Fame, and she is also in the Clemson Ring-of-Honor.
