CLEMSON, S.C. — The ACC announced today that Clemson Tigers’ midfielder Joran Gerbet has been named to the 2024 ACC Preseason Watchlist. This recognition highlights Gerbet’s impact and potential as he enters his second season with the Tigers, following his impressive debut during the 2023 National Championship season.
Also, in voting conducted by the league’s head coaches, Clemson United has been tabbed as the overall ACC favorite.
“Joran is one of the most elite players in college soccer, not only in the ACC but throughout the country,” Head Coach Mike Noonan said.
In his first season with the Tigers, Gerbet quickly emerged as a crucial player in the and his performances earned him a spot on the ACC All-Conference First Team.
The Clemson Tigers are poised for another strong season, with 22 returners from the 2023 national championship team, including two players who are two-time national champions in 2021 and 2023. Among the notable returners are goalkeeper Joseph Andema, forward Alex Meinhard, forward Nathan Richmond, and defender Adam Lundegard.
The No. 1 ranked Tigers will kick off their regular season on August 22, welcoming Penn State to Historic Riggs Field for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff where they will be celebrating the 2023 National Championship.
