CLEMSON, S.C. – For the second time this season, Silvia Jelelgo has been named the ACC Women’s Female Freshman of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
The honor comes after Jelelgo’s impressive performance this past weekend at the Live in Lou Classic at the E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.
The freshman competed in the women’s 5k as she was the first Tiger to cross the line at 16:14.2, which helped Jelelgo secure a second place overall finish in the event. The performance marked Jelelgo’s third meet in-a-row where she has finished in the top three.
Up next, Jelelgo and the rest of the Tigers will prepare for the Crimson Classic which is set to take place on October 18 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
