CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson track and field program is set to compete at the Doc Hale VT Meet hosted by Virginia Tech at Rector Field House on Friday, Feb. 3 and Saturday, Feb. 4. The meet will run from 4-7:30 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m.- 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
This marks Clemson’s fifth meet of the season, and the team is in prime form as it approaches the ACC Championship Meet in Louisville, Ky. beginning on Feb. 23. At last weekend’s Bob Pollock Invitational, Giano Roberts set the nation’s top time of the season in the 60 meter hurdles (7.66), and he sits at No. 4 on Clemson’s all-time list in the event.
On the women’s side, Kiara Grant is just two weeks removed from setting the ACC record in the 60 meter dash with her historic time of 7.11 seconds. Oneka Wilson worked her way into the Clemson record book at the Bob Pollock Invitational, running a 8.25 second 60 meter hurdles race, eighth best in school history.
Daniel Cope and Marie Forbes continue to impress in the weight throw, as Cope’s season-best 21.85 meter throw tops the ACC this season. Forbes’s 21.94 meter throw is third-best in the conference and 12th in the nation.
The Tigers will host their prestigious Tiger Paw Invitational in the weekend following the Doc Hale VT Meet. That will serve as the final meet before ACC Championships.
