CLEMSON, S.C. –The Clemson track and field program is ready to begin the 2023-24 season on Friday, as they are set to host the Clemson Opener at the Indoor Track and Field Complex. The meet will begin at 10 a.m. with the men’s pole vault, high jump and shot put and will run through 5:40 p.m., as it is concluded by the men’s 4×400 meter relay.
Including Clemson, 18 schools will be competing in Friday’s meet, including in-state rival South Carolina and fellow ACC member, Georgia Tech. It marks the first of four home meets for the Tigers, as they are hosting half of the indoor events that they are set to compete in this season.
The Tigers return several key performers from last season’s men’s team, including the 2023 ACC Men’s Outdoor MVP, Cameron Rose and U23 NACAC Championship Gold Medalist, De’Andre Anderson. On the women’s side, cross country standout and ACC XC Freshman of the Year Gladys Chepngetich will make her track and field debut on Friday for the Tigers.
Admission to the meet is free to the public, with parking available in Jervey Meadows.
