Clemson, S.C. – Clemson freshman Maggie Holman has been named the ACC Newcomer of the Week, it was voted on and announced today by the league office. This marks Holman’s first weekly honor of her career and the third ACC Newcomer of the Week honor for the Tigers this season.
Holman stepped in as the anchor on vault for the Tigers who were dealing with sickness and injury among their regular lineup and recorded a 9.850 on the event, good for a second-place tie by just 0.025. She then led off the floor rotation for Clemson and earned a career-high 9.900 to lead the Tigers’ to their highest floor score of the season, a 49.525.
The freshman from Raleigh, N.C., is currently ranked third in the ACC on vault and seventh in the conference on floor.
The Tigers are back in action on Friday, February 9, traveling to Pittsburgh, Pa., for a 7:00 p.m. matchup against the Pitt Panthers, to be shown on ACCNX.
