Hoffman Sets School Record, Tigers Wrap Up Duke Twilight

DURHAM, N.C. – The Clemson track and field program completed competition at Duke Twilight late Sunday night as multiple Tigers added their names to the top ten list and shining on the day was Kirstin Hoffman as she set the school record in the pole vault.

In the women’s pole vault, Hoffman cleared 4.19m to smash the previous record held by Lauren Terstappen who set the record of 4.15m in 2015. The new personal best for the sophomore is huge as her previous best was 4.06m which she achieved at Penn Relays last weekend.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS: 

• In the women’s hammer throw, both Kendra Dye and Ella Brooks improved their top ten marks with new personal bests as Dye threw 55.81m (7th) and Brooks threw 54.82m (8th)
• Brynne Sumner secured a first place finish in the 800 meters as she ran 2:03.87 for the fastest time of the day and a new personal best, moving her to eighth on the top ten list
• Lowa Branth improved her spot on the all-time list as she ran 10:16.21 in the 3000 meter steeplechase to improve her No. 3 time
• Aniyah Kitt finished first in both the 100 and 200 meters, her time in the 100 at 11.35 places her at No. 10 on the top ten list
• In the 5000 meters, Emily Lamontagne ran 16:19.59 to jump to fifth on the top ten list with a huge personal best
• Freshman Jalen Johnson finished first overall in the men’s 200 meters with a time of 20.60
• Jayden Brown secured first place in the men’s 400 meter hurdles with a time of 50.31 which is the eighth fastest time in program history
