Clemson cornerback Tye Hill has been named a first-team All-American by ESPN.com. It is the second organization to name Hill a first-team All-American this week. Last Friday, Hill was named to the Walter Camp Foundation Team.
Hill was joined in the secondary on the ESPN.com team by Jimmy Williams of Virginia Tech, Greg Blue of Georgia and Michael Huff of Texas.
Hill was one of the big reasons Clemson ranked 13th in the nation in scoring defense and in the top 25 in pass efficiency defense. He led the team in passes defended with 10, including three interceptions. He had a fumble recovery for four total takeaways. He had 53 total tackles, including 41 first hits. He had five tackles for loss, most ever by a Clemson cornerback.
