Clemson, S.C. – Clemson’s Kelley Hester has been named to the Division I National Coach of the Year Watch List presented by Golf Pride. Hester is one of 24 finalists for the national award which will be presented during the NCAA Championship Finals at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 19-24.
Hester will lead her team, which finished in second at the 2023 NCAA Pullman Regional, into the NCAA Championship finals as the No. 16 seed in the tournament. The Tigers are one of 30 teams nationally who will play for the NCAA title.
The 2023 ACC Coach of the Year, Hester led her team to the program’s first-ever ACC title in April. She has also led Clemson to five-consecutive NCAA Regional appearances (2020 was canceled due to COVID-19) and has been the head coach for the Tigers’ only two national appearances in program history.
Clemson is seeded No. 16 in the 2023 NCAA Championship Finals and is ranked No. 19 nationally by Golfstat. The finals consist of four rounds of stroke play (72 holes) and three rounds of match play to determine individual and team champions.
