Geren and Umoh Named First-Team All-ACC

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson women’s basketball players, Itoro Umoh and Amy Geren were both named first-team All-ACC as announced by the Atlantic Coast Sports Writers Association Wednesday afternoon.

Umoh, who was named second-team All-ACC in 1997 and 1998, is third on the team in scoring with a 12.4 ppg. average and is fourth on the team in rebounding with a 5.3 rpg. mark. Umoh leads the team in assists with 153 and steals with 47

Umoh is now 10th on the Clemson career list for most points scored with 1,333 and 16th on the Clemson career list for most rebounds with 511. Umoh is third on both the school’s career list for most assists (430) and steals with 249. She is first in the ACC in assists per game (5.9)

Geren was named first-team All-ACC for the second season in a row. She leads the team in scoring with a 14.3 ppg. average. She is ninth on the Clemson career list for most points with 1,343. Geren is first on the Clemson career list for best free throw pct. with an .848 mark.

Clemson will open play in the ACC Tournament on Saturday as the fourth-seeded Lady Tigers face fifth-seeded N.C. State at 1:00 p.m. The game will be televised live locally on Fox Sports South.
