Georgia Defeats Clemson, 7-0

CLEMSON, SC – Fourth-ranked Georgia defeated Clemson 7-0 in a men’s intercollegiate tennis match at Athens, GA Saturday afternoon. Georgia is now 1-0 on the year, while Clemson is now 1-1 this season. Georgia is ranked fourth nationally, while the Tigers are ranked 66th in the latest ITA poll.

Clemson’s number one doubles team of Yannick Maden and Zachary Rigsby upset the eighth-ranked doubles team of Will Spencer and Garrett Brasseaux 8-4. Maden and Rigsby are unranked as a doubles team.

At number one singles, third-ranked Wil Spencer defeated #59th-ranked Yannick Maden 6-1, 6-0.

Clemson will be on the road for the next three matches as the Tigers will travel to LSU on February 2, at Louisville on February 11 and at Furman on February 15.

The Tigers’ next home match will be on Saturday February 18, as Clemson will play host to Wisconsin.
