GAMEDAY CENTRAL: Tigers Return to Littlejohn Coliseum, Host No. 20 Golden Bears

Please be advised that construction has begun outside of Littlejohn Coliseum on a state-of-the-art update to the basketball facilities. A section of the walkway has been fenced off at the corner of Avenue of Champions and Centennial Boulevard, and all entrances remain open at this time, though travel paths are impacted.

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers women’s basketball team (8-5, 1-1) return to Littlejohn Coliseum for a matchup against the No. 20 California Golden Bears (13-1, 1-0). This is the third overall meeting between Clemson and Cal, and the first meeting between the schools since 1990. Thursday’s game is the first time the two teams have met as ACC opponents.

The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. and can be seen on ACCNX with Pete Yanity and legendary former Clemson head coach Jim Davis on the call. It can also be heard on 105.5 The Roar or the Clemson Tigers app with William Qualkinbush and Faxon Childress on the broadcast.

As a team, the Tigers start the new year ranking 15th in the nation in three-point shooting (38.1%). Clemson enters the game following a historic shooting performance at No. 22 NC State. The Tigers set a program record for most three pointers made in a single game with 15. Hannah Kohn also set new career highs in points scored (18) and three pointers made in a game (six). Kohn’s performance ranks as tied for third most three-pointers in a game in school history.

Over the last four contests, Kohn is the Tigers’ leading scorer with 14 point per game and has shot 53% from outside (18-34). Her string of strong performances has catapulted her into 18th in the country in made three pointers (37), and 21st for most three pointers per game (2.9).

Florence, S.C. native Loyal McQueen is having the best season of her career. McQueen has been an elite distributor and playmaker for the Tigers this season. McQueen ranks in the top 20 in the NCAA in assists (75 – 15th), assists per game (5.8 – 19th), and assist percentage (35.9% – 20th). Prior to this season, McQueen’s career high in assists in a single game was seven. In addition to her passing prowess, McQueen has been the Tigers’ leading scorer this season with an average of 13.4 points per game.

Mia Moore has been a tremendous pickup form the transfer portal for Shawn Poppie and company. Moore has been the team’s second-leading scorer (11.5 ppg) and rebounder (5.6), and, based on percentage, has been the team’s best qualified three-point shooter (42.5%).
