CLEMSON, S.C – The Clemson Tigers womenâs basketball team looks to improve to 2-0 against NC Central in Littlejohn Coliseum on Thursday evening.
The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. and can be seen on ACCNX with Fred Cunningham and legendary Clemson coach Jim Davis on the call. It can also be heard on 105.5 The Roar or the Clemson Tigers app with William Qualkinbush and Jasmine McMoore on the broadcast.
The Tigers started their 50th season and the Shawn Poppie era with a resounding 78-44 win over 2024 NCAA tournament participant Jackson State. Clemson was led by Tessa Miller who scored 17 points on 7-8 shooting from the floor.
Loyal McQueen, a native of Florence, S.C., made a triumphant return to the Palmetto State as she put up 10 points, a career high seven rebounds, and tied her career high with seven assists. McQueen previously set her career high in 2021 against Clemson. She is one of 23 players since 1999-00 to set a career high of seven or more assists, and then go on to play for the team that her career high was set against.
Mia Moore (nine points, 11 rebounds), Maddi Cluse (nine points, five rebounds, three assists), and Raven Thompson (nine points, six rebounds) were other notable Tiger performers.
NC Central tipped off its season against Georgia on Monday and suffered a 52-96 loss. The Eagles were led by Kyla Bryant who had 18 points and five rebounds.
