CLEMSON, S.C – The Clemson Tigers womenâs basketball team returns home to Littlejohn Coliseum where it will host the Kennesaw State Owls.
The game will tip off at 2:00 p.m. and can be seen on ACCNX with Daron Vaught and legendary Clemson coach Jim Davis on the call. It can also be heard on 105.5 The Roar or the Clemson Tigers app with William Qualkinbush and Faxon Childress on the broadcast.
The Tigers are returning home following their second-place finish in the Emerald Coast Classic earlier this week, where they recorded a 90-52 win over 2024 WNIT participant UAB. Clemsonâs starting backcourt of Loyal McQueen and Mia Moore were both named to the Emeral Coast Classic Bay Bracket All-Tournament Team for their performance in the two-game tournament.
Through the first six games of the season, McQueen is putting together the best season of her career. Sheâs averaging career highs in points (15.0) and rebounds (3.8) per game, while shooting the best clip of her career from the field (.438) and from outside (.333).
Moore has been a spark plug for the team through the first stretch of the year. In addition to being one of the Tigersâ best defenders, she leads the team in rebounding (7.3 RPG), is Clemsonâs second-leading scorer with 11.7 points per contest, and is shooting a career high from beyond the arc (.438).
Defensively, the Tigers have been fantastic this season and are only allowing opponents to score an average of 52 points per game â 16th best in the nation. Clemsonâs opposition is shooting a paltry 36% from the floor. The Tigers are also rebounding extremely well. With a +10.7 rebounding margin, Clemson currently is the third best rebounding team in the ACC.
Clemson has been sharing the ball at an elite rate this season. 65.6% of the Tigers baskets this year are coming off assists, ranking CU in the top 25 in the country.
The Tigers own a 5-0 all-time record against Kennesaw State. Clemson head coach Shawn Poppie has a 2-0 record against the Owls.
