PREVIEW

  • Clemson takes an 12-3 record into a three-game series against No. 6/6 Virginia Tech to open ACC play.
  • Following the win against Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, Clemson brings a 21-game home winning streak into the weekend that dates back to March 27, 2021 against Duke.
  • The Tigers have outscored opponents 80-26 in games this season, including run-ruling five opponents in the first three weekends.
  • Clemson has 115 hits through 15 games, including posting 23 doubles and 14 home runs.
  • The Tigers have recorded 72 RBIs this season led by Marissa Guimbarda (15), Valerie Cagle (15) and Alia Logoleo (11).
  • When Clemson scores in the first inning, the Tigers are 6-0. The Tigers have scored 16 runs in the first inning.

2022 STANDOUT MOMENTS

  • Sophomores Regan Spencer and Millie Thompson threw Clemson’s first combined no-hitter against Kent State, a five-inning run-rule victory.
  • Sophomore McKenzie Clark hit the program’s first inside the park home run against Akron on Feb. 26 dropping the ball into right center. She was fast enough that she was able to cross home plate without having to slide.
  • Freshman Aby Vieira recorded her first collegiate home run with a grand slam out of right center against Akron. The grand slam was Clemson’s first of the season.
  • Freshman Maddie Moore hit her first collegiate homer on Saturday with a two-run shot out of left field against Boston University.
  • Graduate Marissa Guimbarda recorded her 52nd collegiate home runs against Gardner-Webb and becomeย the 196th player in NCAA Division I history to hit 50+ homers during her collegiate career and sits fifth on the NCAA active player list.

FIRST 100

  • Clemson softball is nearing its 100th game in program history. If the schedule holds as is, the Tigers will reach the feat on March 12 in the evening matchup against Illinois.
  • The 100th game will be played almost five years to the date of the program being announced – the program addition was on March 14, 2017.
  • Through the first 100 games, the softball team is pacing itself to the best start by any program at Clemson. Women’s tennis is the lone sport with more wins currently clocking 78 wins in its first 100 matches played.
  • Among current Clemson head coaches, John Rittman has solidified himself as the winningest head coach through the first 100 games after defeating Gardner-Webb on Tuesday.
  • Rittman has 75 wins to surpass baseball’s Monte Lee and football’s Dabo Swinney, who each held a 74-26 record through their first 100 games.
