  • No. 14/13 Clemson takes a 39-15 overall record into the opening game of the 2022 Clemson Regional against UNC Wilmington.
  • The Tigers are the No. 10 national seed after being selected to host a regional in only the third year of the program. The Tigers welcome three first-time opponents to Clemson: Auburn, Louisiana and UNC Wilmington.
  • The Tigers have outscored opponents 263-131 in games this season, including run-ruling 11 opponents.
  • Clemson has 378 hits through 54 games, including posting 61 doubles and 64 home runs.
  • The Tigers’ pitching staff is posting a 1.87 ERA through 355.1 innings of work and struck out a combined 324 batters.
  • The Tigers are 2-2 in NCAA Regional appearances after being the No. 2 seed in the Tuscaloosa Regional in 2021.
  • Last season, Clemson defeated Troy in the opening game of the Tuscaloosa Regional before dropping its second game to Alabama. The Tigers fought their way back after defeating Troy for a second time before being knocked out of the tournament by Alabama.

ACC HONORS

  • Redshirt sophomore Alia Logoleo led the charge for the Tigers at the ACC Softball Championships batting .600 with three home runs, five RBIs, one walk and four runs scored en route to being named to the ACC All-Tournament Team.
  • Valerie Cagle and McKenzie Clark joined Logoleo on the All-Tournament Team.
  • During the regular season, Cagle was the lone Tiger to receive All-ACC First Team honors.
  • Clark was a Second Team selection, while Logoleo and Millie Thompson garnered Third Team honors.
  • Catcher Aby Vieira was the earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors in her first year of the program.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

  • Graduate transfer Sam Russ came to Clemson prior to the 2022 season after her father, Frank Russ, played baseball for the Tigers in the 80s. Russ is a starter on the first Clemson softball team to host a Regional, while her father Frank was a starter for the first Clemson baseball team to host a regional in 1980.
  • Marissa Guimbarda is only the 196th NCAA Division I player to record at least 50 home runs in their collegiate career. The senior currently sits at 59 after hitting 24 at Furman before transferring to Clemson, where she’s hit 35.
  • The Tigers have walked off 12 opponents this season – including five run-rule victories and four in extra innings.
  • Clemson played its 100th game in program history (March 13, 2022) almost five-years to date after the program addition was announced (March 14, 2017). Through 100 games, the softball team paced itself to tie the best start by a program at Clemson with women’s tennis (78-22).
  • Clemson hit its 100th win in program history in 130 games – this is the second fastest program to reach the 100-win mark after women’s tennis did it in 128 matches.
