Game Notes: Clemson 20, Louisville 19

WITH THE WIN…

• Clemson pushed its all-time record against Louisville to 9-1.
• Louisville became the 27th different program against which Clemson has played 10 or more games all-time. Louisville is now the third program against which Clemson has earned at least nine wins in the first 10 games of a series (10-0 in first 10 games vs. Virginia, 9-1 in first 10 games vs. The Citadel).
• Clemson remained undefeated in road games in the series by improving to 5-0 all-time in Louisville. 
• Clemson won its first five road games in a series with an opponent for the fourth time in school history. Clemson also went 5-0 in its first five road games against Virginia, Furman and The Citadel. 
• Clemson improved to 34-26-5 all-time in Friday games, including a 27-20-5 mark in Friday regular season games all-time.
• Clemson improved to 3-1 in Friday regular season games under Dabo Swinney, including wins at Boston College in 2016 and at Syracuse in 2021.
• Clemson improved to 25-12 in games against teams to which it lost its last meeting under Dabo Swinney.
• Clemson still has not been beaten by the same team in back-to-back years since Florida State did so across a three-year span from 2012-14.
• Clemson concluded ACC play with a 4-4 conference record to finish .500 or better in conference play for the 27th consecutive season. Including 2025, Clemson’s now-27-year streak is tied with Boise State for the longest active streak in the country and the fourth-longest streak in the FBS since 1966.
• Clemson improved to 46-25-2 in regular season conference finales since 1953.
• Clemson added to its existing school record by winning its 11th straight regular season ACC finale. Clemson’s last loss in its final game of regular season ACC play came in 2014 against Georgia Tech.
• Clemson improved to 83-14 against ACC opponents, including postseason play, since 2015.
• Clemson improved to a combined 50-14 against former members of the Big East Conference since each school joined the ACC (Miami, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Pitt and Louisville).
• Clemson improved to 43-10 in true road games since the start of the 2015 season. Its 43 wins in true road games in that span are tied for the most in the nation with Boise State and Ohio State.
• Clemson improved to 35-10 in night games since the start of the 2018 season and 56-13 in night games since 2015.
• Clemson improved to 108-20 in regular season play since the start of the 2015 season. 
• Clemson improved to 32-13 against AP Top 25 teams since 2015. Expanded to include the Coaches Poll, Clemson has recorded at least one win against a ranked opponent in all 17 of Dabo Swinney’s full seasons as head coach.
• Clemson improved to 92-9 when scoring first since the start of the 2015 season. This season, Clemson is 4-1 when scoring first and 1-4 when the opponent scores first. 
• Clemson led at halftime, 10-9, and is now 159-12 under Dabo Swinney when leading at halftime, including a 142-8 mark since the start of the 2011 season.
• Clemson trailed after three quarters, 19-13. The game represented Clemson’s 24th fourth-quarter comeback victory under Dabo Swinney and its first since November 2024 at Pitt.
• Clemson is now 141-12 when totaling more first downs than its opponent since 2011.
• Clemson is now 125-3 in its last 128 games when holding teams to fewer than 23 points, a span that dates to the middle of the 2010 season.
• Clemson is now 41-15 in one-possession games since the start of the 2011 season, the highest winning percentage in the country in one-score games in that span.
• Head Coach Dabo Swinney (185-52) became the sixth coach in FBS history to win 185 games within the first 20 seasons of a head coaching career. Swinney trails only Tom Osborne (195), Nick Saban (191), Bob Stoops (191), Joe Paterno (187) and Urban Meyer (187) despite Swinney being in only his 18th season (and 17th full season). Note: Stoops and Meyer are not credited on the NCAA’s official list of most wins through 20 seasons since they did not coach 20 years.
• Swinney (185) matched the career win total of College Football Hall of Famer Johnny Majors (185-137-10).

GAME NOTES

• Clemson held Louisville to 19 points, the Cardinals’ lowest output since the 2023 ACC Championship Game (six). It broke Louisville’s 23-game streak with 24 or more points, which was the longest streak in ACC history according to ESPN.
• Running back Adam Randall rushed 15 times for 105 yards with a career-high-tying two touchdowns. Randall also added three receptions for 27 yards for a total of 132 yards from scrimmage.
• Randall recorded his third 100-yard rushing game of the season and of his career. Clemson improved to 71-6 when having a 100-yard rusher since 2011.
• Randall recorded his seventh rushing touchdown of the season on a 25-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
• The 25-yard rush represented Randall’s longest touchdown run of the season. 
• Randall gave Clemson the lead in the fourth quarter with a one-yard plunge on fourth-and-1.
• Clemson has now scored at least one rushing touchdown in a national-best 94 of its 106 games since the start of the 2018 season. Clemson has also scored multiple rushing touchdowns in 76 games in that span, also the nation’s best.
• Randall recorded a career-long 46-yard run in the fourth quarter.
• Quarterback Cade Klubnik completed 22-of-34 passes for 187 yards with no interceptions.
• Klubnik (24-13) tied Nealon Greene (24-16) for the sixth-most career wins by a Clemson starting quarterback since World War II. 
• Klubnik engineered his fourth career fourth-quarter comeback win, becoming the first Clemson quarterback to collect at least four career fourth-quarter comeback victories since Charlie Whitehurst.
• Clemson has now played four consecutive games without throwing an interception for the first time since the middle of the 2023 season.
• Wide receiver Antonio Williams recorded a team-high seven receptions for 52 yards.
• Williams became the first Clemson player to catch six or more passes in five consecutive games since Amari Rodgers’ seven-game streak in 2020.
• Wide receiver T.J. Moore led Clemson with 68 receiving yards on six receptions.
• Cornerback Avieon Terrell recorded Clemson’s lone takeaway, forcing and recovering a Louisville fumble in the second quarter. Clemson would score on a 25-yard touchdown run on the following play.
• With his seventh career forced fumble, Terrell took sole possession of the Clemson record for career forced fumbles by a defensive back.
• Terrell tied Levon Kirkland (seven from 1988-91), Keith Adams (seven from 1998-2000) and Vic Beasley (seven from 2011-14) for the seventh-most forced fumbles in a career in Clemson history. 
• Terrell’s four forced fumbles this year are a new single-season career high and are the most by a Clemson defensive back in a single season since at least 1978. 
• Terrell’s fumble recovery was his first of the season and the third of his career.
• Linebacker Sammy Brown recorded his fourth sack of the season in the fourth quarter.
• Brown has now recorded a sack in back-to-back games for the first time in his career.
• Kicker Nolan Hauser went 2-for-2 on field goals and 2-for-2 on PATs.
• Hauser (10) has now posted Clemson’s first double-digit streak of consecutive made field goals since B.T. Potter’s 13-attempt streak in 2021.
• Hauser opened the scoring with a 27-yard field goal. The field goal completed a 12-play, 65-yard drive lasting 6:22.
• Hauser added a 48-yard field goal on Clemson’s opening possession of the second half.
• Punter Jack Smith placed a career-high four of his five punts inside the 20.
• Offensive lineman Blake Miller started his 51st consecutive game to extend his school record for consecutive starts by a non-specialist. Miller has started all 51 games played by Clemson since his arrival as a true freshman in 2022. 
• Offensive lineman Walker Parks played his 62nd career game to pass defensive end Xavier Thomas (61 from 2018-23) for sole possession of the seventh-most games played in Clemson history.
• Safety Tyler Venables played his 60th career game, becoming the 12th player in Clemson history to appear in 60 career games.
• Captains for the contest were defensive end Will Heldt, offensive lineman Blake Miller, offensive lineman Walker Parks and defensive tackle Peter Woods.
