Clemson, SC – Maurice Fountain, a defensive end from Camden, SC who played this past season at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, has signed a letter of intent with the Clemson football program. His bio is listed below.

Ranked as the #78 player in Southeast by Tom Lemming…a two-time all-conference selection in high school at Camden High in South Carolina in 1998 and 1999 by Jimmy Neal…all-area as a junior and senior, all-region as a senior…all-state as a defensive end his senior year…played in the North-South All-Star game in Myrtle Beach, he was the MVP of that game in 1999…had three sacks and nine tackles in that contest…ranked as one of the top 15 prospects in South Carolina in coming out of Camden…a SuperPrep All-American who had 94 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 11 sacks as a senior…led the region in sacks as a senior at Camden…comes to Clemson from same high school as Charles Bennett, also in this year’s signee class, they will both play defensive end at Clemson…played for John Shuman at Fork Union Military in 2000, he had 71 tackles and 11 sacks…played prep football in 2000 with Clemson signee Eric Coleman…led the team in sacks last year…also has been an all-state selection in basketball at the prep level…born 9-22-82…chose Clemson over South Carolina.
