Foster Named ACC Women’s Track Performer of the Week

Official ACC Announcement

Clemson, S.C. – The ACC announced earlier today that Andrea Foster, a senior middle-distance runner for the Tigers, has been tabbed as the conference’s Women’s Track Performer of the Week. The honor comes after Foster ran a world-leading, nation-leading and personal best time of 2:05.30 in the women’s 800 meters this past Saturday (Jan. 18) at the Clemson Invitational. Foster’s result now makes her the sixth-fastest Tiger in program history for the event. Foster is the first Tiger to earn weekly honors this season.

Foster’s first-place finish at the Clemson Invitational was a superb performance, with the senior from Georgetown, Guyana taking the lead early in the race, crossing halfway in just over 61 seconds and then closing with strength and power over the final 200 meters. The final result was Clemson’s fastest indoor women’s 800 meters time in nearly two years.
