May 21, 2001

Clemson, SC–Former Clemson Tigers Matt Jordan and Alan Woods, were named “Man of the Match,” in their respective MLS games over the weekend.

Woods, who is in his first year in the league, started his third consecutive match for the New England Revolution. Woods was instrumental in shutting down the Colorado attack and keeping the Rapids scoreless in the Revolutions 1-0 victory. Since his return to the line-up the Revolution are enjoying their first three game win streak of the year.

Matt Jordan, who has developed in to one of the most successful young goalkeepers in the league, recorded his third shutout of the year against the L.A. Galaxy. Jordan recorded six saves, including a point-blank effort in overtime to preserve the shutout. Jordan is tied for second in the league for most shutouts in the current 2001 season.
