JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Clemson Tigers officially wrapped up NCAA East Regionals on Saturday night as eight individuals and two relay teams have qualified for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene.
On the men’s side, three individuals qualified as Ryan John, Brian Kweyei and Jalen Johnson are set to represent Clemson at nationals. John, who is set to make his first nationals appearance, qualified for the triple jump with his mark of 15.82m at regionals. Johnson is also set to make his nationals debut in the 200 meters as the freshman ran 20.29 in the quarterfinals. Kweyei will represent the Tigers in the 800 meters as he finished with a time of 1:47.28 to secure his ticket to Eugene.
On the women’s side, five individuals and two relay teams qualified for nationals as Clemson will be represented in a variety of events.
Junior Shantae Foreman is headed back to Eugene for the second year in a row as she finished with the top mark in the triple jump with a personal best of 14.01m. Silvia Jelelgo qualified in two events for Clemson as she is set to compete in the 1500 and the 5000 meters. In the 1500, Jelelgo ran 4:05.68 which is a NCAA Top Ten time at No. 6.
Oneka Wilson is set to represent the Tigers at nationals for the second season in a row as she qualified for the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.04. Freshman Aniyah Kitt will make her outdoor national debut in the 100 meters as the newcomer ran 11.12 to qualify for the big stage. Gladys Chepngetich is headed back to Eugene for the second season in a row as the sophomore ran a huge personal best time of 1:59.47, the tenth fastest time in NCAA history and the fastest time in program history.
The women’s 4×100 relay team of Kitt, McKenzie Calloway, Sade Gray and Wilson finished with a time of 43.44 to secure their place at nationals. The women’s 4×400 relay team also qualified for nationals as they finished with a season’s best time of 3:29.24 with Shanque Williams, Kitt, Gray and Chepngetich.
The NCAA Outdoor Championships are set to begin on Wednesday, June 11 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. The final day of competition is scheduled for Saturday, June 14. For all the most up-to-date information regarding Clemson track an
