Clemson, SC – Clemson running back James Davis had arthroscopic shoulder surgery on Thursday afternoon. The surgery was performed by Clemson team orthopedic surgeon Dr. Larry Bowman in Seneca, SC.
Davis went through the first four spring practices, but suffered a shoulder injury during a scrimmage on March 13. He has not practiced since then and will miss the remaining four practices, including Clemson’s Spring Game on April 12.
“The surgery went just fine,” said Clemson Head Coach Tommy Bowden. “It was a minor surgery and he will be ready for the off season conditioning program and preseason practice in August.”
Davis has been named first-team All-ACC each of the last two years and has led Clemson in rushing each of the last three years. He is second in Clemson history in career rushing yards (3,130) and career touchdowns (38). He has had 12 100-yard rushing games in his career and Clemson has won all 12 games.
