CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson Cross Country program announced their full schedule for the 2021 season on Wednesday afternoon. The young team led by Head Coach Vicky Pounds looks to build off its COVID-complicated 2020 season, when the Tigers finished 11th out of 14 teams in a very talented ACC.
Pounds’s squad will compete in four meets before the ACC Championship meet in Notre Dame on October 29, the first of which is on September 3 at Kennesaw State. ACC’s will be the Tigers’ second trip to Notre Dame, as they are set to travel to Indiana for the Joe Piane Invitational a few weeks earlier on October 1.
Pounds is confident that after receiving news that the program was reinstated, this group of runners is ready to take the next step. “To come out on the other side of that, it brought these guys closer, and these guys are fighters and they’re going to take us where we want to be.”
The Tigers open practice on Friday, August 13.
