Coaching Appointment Placed On Hold

CLEMSON, SC–Clemson University President Constantine W. “Deno” Curris has asked the university’s human resources office to delay approval of the appointment of Ralph White as women’s track & field head coach until he has an opportunity to personally review the appointment.

“This action responds to campus concerns that no women or minority candidates were interviewed or given consideration,” Curris said. “When I return to campus next week, I plan to meet with Athletic Director Bobby Robinson to discuss the appointment process, and will ask that Clemson’s Office of Access and Equity assist in the review.”

Curris said he expects the review to be concluded early next week.||
