Clemson’s Shawan Robinson Named To 2005 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District III Men’s Basketball University Division Team

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson men’s basketball junior Shawan Robinson was named to the 2005 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District III Men’s Basketball University Division team as selected by CoSIDA. The guard from Raleigh, NC, is the second Tiger to earn the academic all-district honor and the first backcourt player to do so. Former Tiger center Tom Wideman garnered the recognition in 1998 and 1999. Robinson is eligible for Academic All-America honors, with those teams announced on Wednesday, Mar. 2.

Robinson leads the Tigers in assists (76) and three-point field goal percentage (.391), and ranks second on the team in scoring with a 10.7 points-per-game average. He is also second on the team in free throw shooting percentage (.829) and third in minutes per game with a 27.1 average. Robinson ranks ninth on Clemson’s career list in three-pointers made with 123, and ranks sixth in three-point field goal percentage (.404). He is a two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection (2003, 2004) and was named to the Academic All-ACC team both years.
