Clemson Women’s Tennis Sweeps South Florida To Improve To 12-2 On Season

TAMPA, FL – The Clemson women’s tennis team swept the University of South Florida on Wednesday to improve to 12-2 on the season. The 21st-ranked Tigers did not drop a set en route to their sixth consecutive victory. Clemson will face the fifth-ranked University of Florida on Friday in Gainesville.

Clemson claimed the doubles point, winning every match. At flight one doubles, Julie Coin and Laurence Jayet defeated South Florida’s Fabiana Taverna and Luisa Obando 8-2. Clemson’s Richele LeSaldo and Ioana Paun claimed flight two doubles, defeating Gina Craig and Talia Romero, 8-2. The Tigers’ Ana Stiglic and Anna Dolinska won at flight three doubles, 8-6, over the Bulls’ Larson and Patricia Kolendo.

In singles play, Clemson’s top-seeded Julie Coin defeated Fabiana Taverna 6-1, 6-1. The Tigers’ Laurence Jayet defeated South Florida’s Luisa Obando by a score of 6-3, 6-3. Clemson’s Ioana Paun of Clemson defeated Talia Romero by a score of 7-5, 6-0. The Tigers’ Anna Dolinska defeated South Florida’s Belen Pandre 6-0, 6-1 to claim the flight six singles match.

Clemson women’s tennis (13-2) returns to action on Friday, Mar. 21 in Gainesville, FL, as the Tiger take on the fifth-ranked Florida Gators in a 5:00 PM match.
