Clemson Women’s Swimming & Diving Team Begins Competition At ACC Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Clemson women’s swimming and diving team competed in the first day of competition at the 2004 ACC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday. The Tigers are currently in a tie for sixth place through the first two events of the meet.

Through one day of competition, North Carolina is in first place with 74 points, followed by Florida State in second with 70 points. Maryland is currently in third place with 66 points, while Virginia is fourth (62) and Duke is fifth (52). Clemson is in a tie for sixth place with Georgia Tech, with the Tigers and Yellow Jackets scoring 50 points apiece. NC State is currently in eighth place with 48 points through two events.

The Tigers’ 200 medley relay team of Lindsey Kroeger, Caitlin Bissell, Courtney Humes and Kallie Deters finished fifth in the event with a time of 1:41.60. In the 800 free relay, Clemson’s Kim Routh, Aurelie Gresset, Nicole Kroeger and Christine Anseeuw placed eighth, recording a time of 7:29.97.

Competition will resume on Thursday, Feb. 19 with the preliminary rounds beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the finals commencing at 7:00 p.m.
