ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) – Chrissy Floyd scored a career-high 24 points and combined with Krystal Scott to lead No. 20 Clemson to a 79-46 victory Saturday night over Winthrop.
Clemson (10-2) took command at the outset, and Floyd and Scott scored most of their points in the first half. Floyd had 16, and Scott 10 or her 12.
Floyd followed a jumper with a 3-pointer to put the Tigers up 35-19 with 2:05 left in the first half. She finished with two free throws to give Clemson a 37-24 advantage at the break.
A 14-4 run at the start of the second half extended Clemson’s lead to 51-30.
Lakeia Stokes’ jumper with 3:50 remaining gave the Tigers their largest edge at 76-42.
Kia Bell led Winthrop (2-8) with 11 points.
Clemson shot 57 percent for the game, while Winthrop made only 37 percent.
