Clemson Head Coach Tommy Bowden “Overall, I thought we play well today. I was concerned starting three freshmen on offense, but everyone played with a lot effort. The new offensive line is progressing with each game. Brad Scott has done a good job in gaining continuity in the offensive line rotations.”

“Coach O’Brien did a great job getting his team prepared for this game. They are a more disciplined team this year.”

“Da’Quan Bowers will continue to improve provided he stays healthy. He is a very mature player for his age. He gives a lot of effort. Jacoby (Ford) also had a lot of great looks today. C.J. (Spiller) created a lot of great plays today running north and south to move the pile.”

NC State Head Coach Tom O’Brien “Clemson is a very good football team and our team hung in there. There were a couple situations when we were right there and could not make the plays. If we could have made a couple of kicks, it would have been a one score game in the fourth quarter.”

In regards to the pressure from Clemson’s defensive line: “That’s something that we’re going to have to look at. That’s Russell Wilson’s first real game. Was it them doing a good job on defense or us doing a bad job on protection? It’s 50/50 I would say.”

Quarterback Cullen Harper “It was good that I came out and threw the ball well. The defense did a good job, and we got it started in the right direction. The O-line did a great job, the running backs ran the ball extremely hard, and we found ways to get the receivers involved; we’ve got to continue to do that. They got the momentum early on and we had to put that behind us.”

Defensive Tackle Jarvis Jenkins “I’m starting to feel good a little bit, starting to get used to playing a little more. I just tried to stay low and come off the ball like I was supposed to. After that interception, I felt like the team needed a spark, and that blocked extra point gave us confidence. Now, I’ve just got to keep doing what I’ve got to do to become a good player.”

Wide Receiver Jacoby Ford “We just came out and executed really well. When my number was called, I just made plays today. If you have a good week in practice, then you’ll play well in the game. I just want to go out there and put the team in position to win.”

Running Back C.J. Spiller “I thought I ran very physical today; it was good to show my offensive line that I’m going to run hard for them. They did a really good job blocking today. We knew we were going to have to lower our shoulders and get the tough yards. That’s the kind of mindset I came into this game with.”
