Clemson v. Georgia Tech – Game Notes January 29, 2012 – Littlejohn Coliseum

The Lady Tigers opened tonight’s game against Georgia Tech holding them to just one field goal and forcing 6 turnovers in the first 7:31.

The Lady Tigers had a 27-26 point lead going into the half. This is the second time during ACC play the Tigers have taken the lead into the half.

During tonight’s game, Clemson tied the season high for 1st half field goal percentage with a.500 mark. The record was previously set this season during the South Carolina game on November 11.

Shaniqua Pauldo recorded three field goals in the first 8 minutes of the game. She had a combined score of four points and was 2-11 for field goals in the last three games. She finished the night with a total of 12 points making 6-8 field goals.

Nikki Dixon recorded 10 points during the first half of the game. It is her 13th game this season where she has reached double figures within the first half.

Dixon contributed to the team’s defense with four steals in the first half and tied a season high of 15 field goal attempts for the game. She came into the game ranked 5th in the ACC for steals.

Dixon finished the game with 18 points which ties for the third-most this season. She shot three 3-pointers and seven field goals. This was the fourth time this season Dixon had tallied at least three 3-pointers in a game. Dixon also tied two career highs of five defensive rebounds and eight total rebounds in tonight’s game.

Quinyotta Pettaway set a season and career high of four assists. Her record going into the game was 3 set during the Florida State game on January 5th of this year.

Clemson’s four players from the state of Georgia scored 41 of the 54 points for tonight’s game. Nikki Dixon lead the group with 18 points. Chancie Dunn scored 4 points, Lindsay Mason scored 7 points, and Shaniqua Pauldo scored 12 points during tonight’s games.
