Clemson To Meet Down Under Bandits

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson’s men’s basketball team will play host to the Down Under Bandits of Australia on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM at Littlejohn Coliseum. It will be the second and final preseason exhibition game for Larry Shyatt’s Tigers.

Clemson won its first exhibition game last Friday night with an 81-60 victory over the California South All-Stars. Adam Allenspach led the Tigers with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Will Solomon had 21 and Andrius Jurkunas added 17.

The Down Under Bandits were 0-3 heading into Monday night’s game at Duke. The team from Australia plays its first five games on this tour of the United States against ACC teams. They were defeated by Maryland 98-79, by Virgnia 97-67 and by North Carolina 96-78. Down Under All-Stars had a 44-41 lead at the half against the Tar Heels before North Carolina exploded for 55 points in the second half.

Four players average in double figures for the Down Under All-Stars. Scott Mitchell is the top scorer with 17 point average from his starting power forward spot, while center Ryan Stolberg averages 16 a game. Guard Damien Robertson averages 10 points and four assists per game.
