Clemson Tied for Seventh Entering Final Round of Linger Longer

Clemson, SC—Alberto Dominguez led Clemson on Monday with a one over par 73, as the Tigers shot 298 as a team and fell from sixth to a tie for seventh after two rounds of the 14-team Linger Longer Invitational at the Great Waters Course in Eatonton, Ga.    The field will conclude play with 18 holes on Tuesday.

Clemson shot a seven-under par 281 in the first round when Jonathan Nielsen shot a career best eight under par 64.  But, all five Clemson golfers had a double bogey or triple bogey on Monday and those high scores hurt Clemson’s team score.

Dominguez had three birdies and played the last six holes at two under par to be Clemson’s best finisher on Monday.

Nielsen is still in 17th place after two rounds thanks to his Sunday performance.   His 141 score is best among Tigers so far.   Andrew Swanson had a second round 74 and stands in 38th place after 36 holes.    Sophomore Thomas Higgins had a 74 with three birdies, and his score of four over par 148 after 36 holes is 54th entering the final day.

Kian Rose had a 78 on Monday and is at eight over par 152 after two rounds, 67the place.
