CLEMSON, S.C. – In front of a nearly full Jervey Gym crowd, the Clemson Volleyball team swept Charlotte, 25-20 25-10, 25-23, in the Tigers’ lone exhibition match of 2019. Clemson was led by redshirt junior Kaylin Korte and sophomore right side hitter Solei Thomas, both of whom posted a team-high 10 kills. Both Clemson and the 49ers opted to play a fourth set, which the Charlotte won, 25-18.

“The purpose of the exhibition is to get that first match – at home – under our belt,” said Clemson head coach Michaela Franklin. “I especially appreciated how our team showed a lot of competitive composure, especially late in the third set. We didn’t get rattled. We stayed focused and took care of the ball.”

The final point to seal the match in favor of Clemson came on a quick pass from freshman setter Mckenna Slavik to teammate and freshman middleblocker Annika Clark, who pummeled the ball to floor.

Up next, Clemson hosts the annual Big Orange Bash (Aug. 30-31), which features Georgia, Kennesaw State and Wofford.
