Clemson Still Ranked Second In Mastercard Golf Rankings

PRINCETON, N.J. – Clemson remains second in the nation in the latest MasterCard college golf rankings according to the College Golf Foundation. The Tigers won the ACC Tournament last weekend, defeating among others, top ranked Georgia Tech. Clemson’s next action will be at the NCAA Regionals in Scranton, PA.

Clemson also has four players ranked in the top 16 in the nation according to the latest individual rankings by the Golf Foundation. Lucas Glover, a junior from Greenville, is ranked fourth in the nation, highest among the Tigers.

John Engler, who recently finished second at the ACC Tournament, Clemson’s top finisher, is ninth in the nation. Jonathan Byrd, first-team Academic and on-course All-American last year, is ranked 12th in the nation. His final round 67 at the ACC Tournament keyed Clemson’s comeback to the title. Freshman D.J. Trahan, who eagled the final hole on Sunday, is ranked 16th in the nation, best among freshmen.
