CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson track and field program has inked its second athlete of the week with the signing of jumper Ryan-Matthew John, the team announced on Saturday. John hails from New York and participates in each of the jump events (long, high, triple).
John currently jumps 23 feet 3 inches (7.09m) in the long jump, while clearling 6 feet 6 inches (2.00m) in the hugh jump. and in the triple jump, he jumped 48 feet 3 1/2 inches (14.72m). The current high school senior currently ranks first in NY for triple jump and 38th Nationally in 2021.
The news of John’s signing comes just days after the Tigers announced 2019 MEAC Champion in the 60m Kiara Grant as a midterm signee. Clemson continues to add to its already extremely talented list of incoming athletes, as John projects to make an immediate impact on the jumps team.
