Clemson Signee Chase Thompson Named Minnesota Mr. Basketball

CLEMSON, S.C. – Chase Thompson (Glenwood, Minn/Alexandria) led Alexandria to its first-ever state title by claiming the Class 3A crown in Minnesota. Thompson was then named Minnesota Mr. Basketball, presented to the most outstanding senior player in the state.

Thompson was a standout for the Cardinals in 2024-25, averaging 24.8 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, according to stats provided by the MN Boys Basketball Hub. In Alexandria’s 73-64 victory over Mankato East in the Class 3A title game, Thompson scored a game-high 28 points on 10-for-18 shooting and added seven rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in a dominant all-around effort.

Thompson is the No. 2-ranked recruit in Minnesota’s 2025 class, according to 247Sports.
