CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers will join the eight other ACC rowing teams in Raleigh, N.C. for the ACC Championship on May 17th and 18th on Lake Wheeler. The Tiger’s 3v8 and 1v4 boats earned the No. 5 seed and will race in the first heats, while Clemson’s 1v8 was named the No. 6 seed and its 2v8 and 2v4 were named the No. 7 seed. The Tigers have had several weeks to prepare for this year’s ACC Championship, as their last race was also on Lake Wheeler on April 26th and 27th at the Lake Wheeler Invite. In their last regatta of the regular season, Clemson totaled 10 points, finishing the weekend with two second place, two third place, eight fourth place, two fifth place, and one sixth place finish.
Clemson’s 3v8 will start the racing for the Tigers at ACC’s with a 8:05 start time in heat one. Following the 3v8’s, Clemson’s 1v8 will race in heat two at 8:40 a.m., then the 2v8 in heat two at 9:05 a.m., the 1v4 in heat one at 9:20 a.m., and finally the 2v4 at 9:55 a.m.
Upon conclusion of the prelim races on Friday, May 17th, Clemson will either race in the petite or grand finals on Saturday, May 18th. Clemson looks to improve from their sixth place finish at ACC’s last year.
